A day in the life of Thomas Müller

Collection: A day in the life of Thomas Müller

Start the day with full power

What characterizes a world-class footballer? Talent, dedication and a coordinated routine - characteristics that also apply to Thomas. Join us on a journey through the daily routines of the professional athlete, where nutrition, training and recovery combine to create a symphony of peak performance.

Thomas' day begins at 7.30 a.m. - a start characterized by discipline and structure. His breakfast? A handful of walnuts, three tablespoons of olive oil, 250 milliliters of electrolyte drink and a nutritious protein shake with oat flakes and linseed. If there is enough time, a nutrient-rich porridge with fresh fruit and a variety of nuts enriches his morning.

Hard training and conscious nutrition

The day picks up speed with his arrival at the training ground at 9.15 am. The morning is filled with targeted activation training, strength exercises and flexibility training, followed by intensive team sessions on the pitch. Afterwards, there is a simple but nutritious meal in the FC Bayern canteen, where Thomas pays particular attention to a balanced mix of vegetables, carbohydrates and proteins.

In the afternoon, Thomas escapes the hustle and bustle of soccer and devotes himself to his passion for horses, which he shares with his wife. He has a healthy snack such as apples, berries or seasonal fruit. He ends the evening with a well-balanced dinner that supports regeneration: A mixed salad with seeds or a soup beforehand, and Thomas loves Asian food or fish with vegetables for the main course.

Mental and physical preparation on match day

On match days, Thomas adjusts his routine slightly. Before Champions League games, for example, he has eggs with wholemeal bread and a selection of vegetables for breakfast, as well as a nutritious Bircher muesli with nuts, seeds and a dollop of yogurt. Light activation and mental preparation are a fixed part of his morning program, followed by a rest period and a balanced lunch to optimally replenish his energy stores.

The highlight of the day is the game, which Thomas looks forward to with full concentration. After the team meeting at 5 p.m., the players eat a final meal. The German international usually relies on rice with vegetables, chicken breast and tomato sauce. To top it all off, there is again a generous dash of olive oil. At 7 p.m., he takes the team bus to the stadium, where the ball is kicked off at 9 p.m. After the game, the focus is on regeneration, supported by a quick, nutritious meal and sufficient hydration.

Small routines, big impact

As you can see, Thomas' routine - be it on training days or match days - reflects his philosophy: a balanced diet, preparation for physical challenges and a strong mental focus. His preference for nuts, especially Seeberger's walnuts and smoked almonds, emphasizes the importance of a nutrient-rich diet. A life of discipline, dedication and the pursuit of the next success - both on and off the court.
